About RATC
General Policy
The Richmond Adult Technical Center (RATC) provides high-quality, industry-aligned instruction for students enrolled in Apprenticeship Programs. Whether you’re looking to change careers, enhance your current skill set, or develop advanced abilities as a hobbyist, RATC offers an excellent pathway to your goals.
Most classes are held Monday through Thursday from 6:30–9:30 p.m. Most courses include approximately 75 hours of instruction over a 14-week semester, with two semesters offered each school year. A minimum of 10 registered students is required for a class to run.
Tuition is due at the time of registration and students are reponsible for purchasing textbooks, workplace materials and supplies. By enrolling, students agree to follow all policies and procedures established by the Richmond Adult Technical Center and Richmond Public Schools. Please note that smoking, tobacco use, and the consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on all Richmond Public Schools property.
